Legalization of the documents

In order to legalize the document(s) in the Consular Division
of the Embassy of the Russian Federation you have to:

  • To certify document(s) by Canadian Notary Public
    Document(s) issued by the provincial Vital Statistics offices or federal government organization do not have to be certified by the Notary Public and must be legalized in original only.
  • To legalize document(s) (in the original) at the Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade Canada
  • To pay the fee

The fee for the legalization in the Consular Division of the Embassy of the Russian Federation for each document is 30 Canadian dollars for Russian citizens and 60 CAD for citizens of other countries.

Payment must be made by certified cheque or money order ONLY.

Documentation requirements
Documents submitted for legalization should contain the following details (number, date, signature, seal).

Documents must be committed without erasures and subscriptions, they should not contain corrections.

The document, which contains more than one page, must be stapled, numbered and sealed.

Photocopy of document(s) has to be attached.

For unrestricted use in Russia, legalized documents made in a foreign language must be translated into Russian. Certification of the translation of the document can be certified by the Consular Division.

The fee is 25 CAD per page for the Russian citizens and 55 CAD for citizens of other countries.

We don’t accept envelopes paid by credit cards or collect.
